LONDON FIRE BRIGADE – CURATING ART IN A WORKING FIRE STATION

To attract a diverse audience – local residents, designers, creatives, and London Fire Brigade staff—we helped curate The Running Towards, an exhibition for the London Design Festival set uniquely within a working Shoreditch fire station.

In collaboration with Studio Sutherland and Tom Sharp, the show celebrated the courage of firefighters while inviting visitors to reflect on bravery in their own lives.

Central to the exhibition were 25 reinterpretations of the Warning: Risk of Fire symbol by London-based creatives, accompanied with a personal story, ranging from Jimmy Turrell’s tribute to his firefighter dad, to Franz Lang’s illustrated tale of a cat and her grandmother and Sports Banger’s Prodigy inspired piece.

We also curated historic objects that had been collected from the local firefighters over the decades
